Fersa Group, the Zaragoza-based multinational expert in the design, manufacture, and distribution of mobility solutions, high-performance bearings and electromechanical components for automotive, industrial and wind energy applications, received on June 25th and 26th a delegation from the Government of the Chinese city of Jiaxing. This visit has arisen as a result of the closing of a collaboration agreement between the two institutions, whereby both parties will jointly invest 37 million euros, over the next 5 years, in the construction of a new manufacturing plant, where Fersa will transfer the production of the plant currently located in that city.

Likewise, Fersa has taken advantage of this event to promote the cooperation and the commercial and cultural relations between Jiaxing, the City Council of Zaragoza, the University of Zaragoza and Sesé.

On Sunday, June 25, Fersa accompanied the Jiaxing delegation to the mobility museum, Mobility City, where they visited the stand of the Spanish corporation, which exhibits its proposal for smart mobility solutions. On the morning of Monday 26th, members of the board of Fersa attended with the Chinese delegation a meeting with the municipal corporation of the City Council of Zaragoza, where both governments signed a long-term cooperation protocol between both cities.

The Chinese delegation also visited the facilities of the Fersa Group headquarters in Zaragoza, where they were given a tour of the production plant and the new FersaLab building, which is currently in the final stages of construction and is expected to be commissioned in the upcoming months.

A driving force in Jiaxing's economy

Since its installation in Jiaxing in 2011, Fersa has proven to be a driving force in the region's economy. This is why the multinational and the Chinese institution have recently signed a collaboration agreement whereby both parties will jointly invest a total of 37 million euros over the next 5 years, in the construction of a new Fersa production plant in the town.

The new Fersa plant in Jiaxing will replace and double in size the existing one, as it will have an area of 30,000 sq meters, which will house new production lines, a logistics warehouse, R&D and quality laboratories and offices.

The investment and the commitment to increase Fersa Group's production capacity in China will allow the group to expand in the Asian country, focusing on the automotive and wind energy sectors, with large customers such as SAIC, Maxus and Dongfeng, leaders in the automotive industry, as well as Envision and Goldwind, leaders in the manufacture of wind turbines.

The multinational now has 7 manufacturing plants in Europe and Asia. A structure that allows a more efficient and sustainable flow of materials, as it distributes the production of each of its factories to the countries in their respective areas of influence.

With the latest agreements and acquisitions, Fersa not only demonstrates its clear intention to continue expanding but also takes another step forward in its mission to be the global leader in the manufacture of components for the automotive, industrial, and wind energy sectors. The group closed 2022 with a €165 million turnover and 57% growth compared to 2021, and expects to exceed €200 million turnover in 2023.
