This kind of bearing is the most popular of all bearings. It has a simple design, cannot be separated and, in general, requires very little attention once it is fitted in the application.
Within single-row ball bearings, we can basically find 3 versions of the same bearing: open bearings, with protective plates and with shutter gaskets. The protective plates leave a small radial space separating it from the inner ring, while the shutter gaskets completely close the space between the inner and outer rings.
The latter two versions include the correct amount of grease to allow them to work under normal conditions for their lifetime, and they can be used with operating temperatures ranging from 20ºC to + 100ºC.
Fersa can also supply this kind of bearing with a built-in elastic ring, providing a simple form of axial fixation in applications.
An important characteristic of these bearings that must be specified when choosing the most suitable type is the internal radial tolerance.
